As she entered her twenties, Handler relocated to Los Angeles in order to explore acting. To help support her family, Handler began to work as an actress. When she turned age 21, Handler decided to pursue stand-up comedy as a full-time profession since she discovered her storytelling abilities. At the beginning of her career Handler started out her profession as part of the Oxygen network, which was an all-female cast on the hidden camera/comedy reality television series Girls Behaving Badly. It was in air from 2002 until 2005. Handler then started appearing in other programs such as Weekends at the D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids.
